The Rojo Di is a private claim owned by a good friend of mine. These eggs look very much like Lucky Strikes, however they tend to have a much wider variety of matrix colors and agate cores. I'm fairly new to cutting and polishing these eggs, but they are moving up quickly on my favorites list! |

Here's an awesome pair of Rojo Di Eggs. This has a small agate core for the size of eggs, however it has a very nice eye catching agate core. The agate is a light blue/gray colored fortification agate with a hint of banded agate and has a nice red outline. Also See the Butterfly pattern?

Looking into the many digs at Ochoco Agate Bed Currently owned by the Mt. Hood Rock Club from Portland, Oregon area. This is also known as the "Old Viewpoint", or "TVGC Claim". |

The the only time I collected at the Ochoco Agate bed this year, this was a very nice egg I found in an old tailing pile. The agate is very light in color, and has a light carnelian tint. Great Specimen!

![]() **Currently Under Private Claim**. These eggs tend to be very much like White Fir Spring specimens. The quality tends to be better than the White Fir Beds as well. |
![]() White Fir Springs - The Agate bed is a private claim held my the Prineville Powwow Club. Only club members and members of the field trips are allowed to collect here. The Agate Bed, at one time was claimed as the "Stringer Bed" this name tends to be commonly used for the specimens. |

![]() Queens Point again at one time in History was mined with heavy equipment. Eggs are rare to find, and tends to be one of many "historic beds" left for the History Books. The eggs in this bed are usually smaller in sized, 3" and smaller. The cores have many varieties, however shadow agate is top gem in this claim. |

Here's a quality Queens Point specimen that the old timers were always looking for. Nice clear agate with moss in the bottom, and a upper filling of tight fortification agate with shadow agate. Very nice!

My hole at T&T T&T Bed was a re-discovered bed a couple years ago. Eggs here are plentiful, but one must collect many specimens to cut quality collection pieces. |
|
"Surface collecting" in White Rock (remember no digging allowed) White Rock Springs is one of the most historic collecting sites in the Ochoco's. Tons of Eggs were taken from this bed before the creation of the Mill Creek Wilderness area. I've personally hiked into this bed to take photo's and I am amazed how the Wilderness Boundary "curves" around this bed to make it illegal to collect here. |

Main Pit at Fallen Tree Fallen Tree like many egg beds has a long history. It was first discovered by "Kop" who owns the Lucky Strike Mine. It has since changed many owners and now is owned and operated by Hinkle's Rock Shop. |

From my last trip to Fallen Tree several weeks ago, this was a fair specimen I dug. It has a large agate core which has a plain dark gray colored agate. It also has several fractures. Overall it's a fair specimen from a claim where good agate eggs are uncommon.

Here's a very interesting Killer Green Specimen. I dug this a few weeks ago and was pleased when I cut this specimen. This has the triconoid core shape, with light gray colored agate. Below the cut surface appears to be a hollow pocket which has a purple amethyst tint. Also if you enlarge the right hand photo, you'll see the round tube sections. These tubes, and in the bottom right hand corner of the egg is tiny pyrite? crystals floating in the agate. Very unique!

Fred Bed is a little area on a piece of Private Property in the Mill Creek Valley. It was collected heavily for one year, and then due to restrictions on the property collecting is no longer allowed. These are very nice eggs and specimens are becoming limited. |

Friends Ranch main pit. Friends Ranch is located just outside of Ashwood, Oregon. This is a pay-to-dig ranch that opens a couple times a year for the public. I have to admit I really enjoy this place. The Owner's Darrell and Kathy are fantastic people! Several times they have opened the ranch for me to collect privately during the year. |

Although I have never personally collected here, these are some Interesting Eggs. They have several collecting beds on the ranch, and again this area opens a few times a year to the public. |
|
Cougar traps were found over Memorial day weekend by some friends and I in 2008. These are smaller eggs with a very unique look. The quality is poor to fair, but they do make a good "Locality Specimen" |
|
Flap Jack Bed This was another locality some friends and I found and dug over Memorial day weekend 2008. This was a roadcut locality and this locality does have a long history of being dug over the years. The Eggs are large! Largest one I have is 220pounds! |
|
Looking South from Donnybrook Located in between Ashwood and Antelope, Oregon - This is a road cut dig near the microwave tower on Cold Camp Road. The eggs are limited and hard work is required to obtain specimens. The specimens have a light yellow colored matrix and typically have a clear agate core, with faint banding lines. |
|
Very close to Cherry Creek Bed Cherry Creek Thundereggs are a brand new deposit I personally found a couple months ago in late 2008. These eggs are very unique and specimens are very limited. This locality is on the far reaches of Jefferson County, possibly in Wheeler County. |
|
Inside one of Richardson's many beds A very well known locality, Richardson's Ranch is a pay-to-dig locality that as been open for years. It has many beds for people to prospect and it worth the time. At this locality you are certain to bring home Thundereggs. |

Here's a classic "Blue Bed" Specimen. This has a large blue agate core with banded and fortification agate.
Very nice looking egg!

Pony Butte Thundereggs are split by two properties. Richardson's Ranch has one half of this bed, while another private party owns the other half. The specimens I have to offer are from both sides... However the non Richardson Specimens came from old collection when Mr. Lawson mined this area, hence the name "Lawson Bed" |
|
Deschutes River/Wasco County Most of These Thundereggs come from the Warm Springs Indian Reservation or very nearby. |
|
|
|
This listing (when I have the eggs) will contain other Thundereggs from the Deschutes River and also the Warm Springs Reservation. The Thundereggs are called Hunt Ranch, Twin or Big Oak Springs, and Mutton Mountain. There is many eggs in the area so more names are sure to surface. Also there's another Thunderegg locality just outside of Kahneeta. |
